Filmmaking is an adventure that gives me pure joy. I find that the process of conceiving an idea, conjuring up inspiration to share with others and creating something meaningful is infinitely rewarding. I think the metamorphosis from fantasy to reality during this creative process is fascinating.
I am still exploring and defining my style as a filmmaker and I’m certain this will be an ongoing journey. I will always strive to take my audiences on an adventure and my goal as a filmmaker is to never fear taking risks and to simply share the joys I find in filmmaking to share with others.
In 2009, I recieved my Baccalaureate in Arts, majoring in Cinema at SFSU with an emphasis in animation. I was a part of a two-year animation program where I practiced all disciplines of animation including 3D computer animation, 2D (hand drawn and computer) animation, and stop motion. I currently work primarily in After Effects.
I am also an artist. I enjoy many different kinds of media including, but not limited to: graphite, charcoal, watercolor and acrylic. Similar to my filmmaking, I am still refining my style. One common theme I enjoy exploring is recreating some of my favorite film characters ranging from the Creature from the Black Lagoon to James Bond.
After spending a couple of years as a photographer and filmmaker for the College of Liberal and Creative Arts Communications team at SFSU, I have been exploring within the field of photography. I find that there is a fine line between filmmaking and photography in terms of lighting and composition and I am always refining that skill.
